Everyone is aware of the Opioids crisis. But how do you break through — talk in a fresh way —and get people to confront its consequences? You think big. Like a 9ft.-tall pill bottle with people trapped inside. The Know the Risks campaign helped to galvanize and energize community leaders in Northeast Ohio to take action. It also educated the public that commonly prescribed pain medications are in the same drug family as heroin. And that taking the pills, even for a few days, could lead to a deadly addiction. The campaign uses the iconic amber pill bottle as its centerpiece and as a symbol of the potential danger – it’s a fine line between prescription and addiction. Because opioids kill more than pain.
